Induction Programme for New Members in Wales 2008

Welcome to the 2008 WLGA Member Induction Programme. This disk contains all the materials that you need to provide seven induction modules for newly elected members or refresher seminars for more experienced members.

These materials were produced by the Association working with Blue Apple HR Solutions from an original set of materials written by members of the National Member Support Officer Network and the WLGA.

Please read the guidance on how to deliver the sessions. Each module contains more information than can be comfortably delivered in one sitting. This is so that facilitators have enough material to be flexible in their delivery to take account of the local context and member requirements.

It is important to add your own local information to some sections and to make sure that a range of officers take part in the delivery, or are on hand to answer questions.

The modules are intended to be delivered in an informal way with plenty of opportunity for discussion and sharing experiences. The copyright of this material belongs with the WLGA. It can be freely used and adapted by the WLGA and its member authorities. Anyone else should contact the WLGA for permission to use the materials.

• Facilitator notes including a draft programme in English and Welsh
• MS PowerPoint presentations in English and Welsh
• Handouts and practical exercises in English and Welsh
