Technical Guidance

This guide provides brief technical and user guidance to assist the facilitation process on areas such as navigating through this guide and how to edit and manage your presentations.

Before you start please check two settings on your PC as follows:

In Word select Tools from the top toolbar, then Options, then select the View tab and under Show ensure that:

  • There is a tick against ScreenTips

Then in the same box select the Edit tab and under Editing Options ensure that:

  • There is not a tick against use CTRL + click to follow hyperlink

Then select OK. You are ready to start.

Navigation within this document

Please note, none of the links in this guidance are active, please practise on the links within the modules.

Hyperlinks have been included in this guide to assist with you with moving to the associated PowerPoint slides, to different parts of this document and to additional Word documents such as exercises. The list below describes the type of links and their actions.


1. Link to a PowerPoint Slide

This is denoted by the PowerPoint icon. To activate this link you place your mouse pointer over the icon, click once to select it and follow the instruction that appears in the bottom left hand corner of your MS Word window.


2. Link to a point within the Facilitator Guide

These are denoted by a ScreenTip, either from a Word icon as above, or a heading in the Table of Contents, the Module Programme or the Slide Index. To activate this link you click on the text or the icon.





3. Link out of the document to an Exercise, a PDF Document or a Website

These are also denoted by a ScreenTip, They work in the same way as links within the guide, you click on the icon to activate the link.

  • Exercises are editable documents in Word.
  • PDF Documents are fixed downloads and cannot be edited
  • Links to Websites will allow you to gather further information if you have on-line access.

Please note that depending on your system security configurations you may be presented with the following message, if so please choose ‘OK’ to proceed.
